CSM Osvaldas Žurauskas is a Command Sergeant Major of the Conscription and Recruitment Department of the Armed Forces of Lithuania.

 

CSM Žurauskas was born on 15 July, 1973. He joined the Lithuanian Armed Forces in Motorized Infantry Battalion as a conscript at infantry man position in 1992. After one year of service, he enlisted the Armed Forces as professional soldier and became a Platoon Sergeant in the Airborne Unit. Other duty assignments include: Platoon Sergeant of the Recce platoon, Command Sergeant Major of the Motorized Infantry Battalion, Command Sergeant Major of the Motorized Infantry Brigade "Iron Wolf", Chief of the Staff Sergeants Course in the NCO School, Sergeant Major of the Land Forces and Sergeant major of the Conscription and Recruitment Department.  CSM Žurauskas deployed to Kosovo in 2007 where he served HQ J3 LMT CC NCO.

 

CSM Žurauskas military education includes: APC M113 Driver Course; Sniper Course; Squad Leader (Infantry); Platoon Sergeant (Infantry) Course; Platoon Leader (Infantry) Course; Company 1st Sergeant and Command Sergeant Major Course; UK Army Marine Course; Instructor Course; Swiss Army Advanced NCO Course; Fire Range Control and Live Fire Exercise Instructor Course; Patrol Course (Recce School); Swimming Course (Recce School) and Physical Training Instructor Course; U.S. Army Commandant Pre-Command Course.

CSM Žurauskas holds a bachelor's degree in Defense and Security Institutions Management.

 

CSM Žurauskas awards and decorations include: Ministry of Defense Medal for Deployment on International Missions; Lithuanian Armed Forces Medal of Merit; Land Forces Medal for Distinguished Service; Land Forces Medal for Distinguished Service with bronze Pillars of Gediminas, Armed Forces Medal for Outstanding Service; NATO Non-Article V (KFOR) Medal; Honorary Badge of the Motorized Infantry Brigade "Iron Wolf"; NCO Professional Development Ribbon (No.5); Badge of the Recce School "PATROL"; Instructor Badge; Excellent Physical Fitness Badge, Airborne Jump Badge with One Star, International Military Student Badge.

CSM Žurauskas is nominated to United States Army Sergeant Major Academy's Internal Student Hall of Fame.

 

CSM Žurauskas is married to former Miss Lijana Stancelyte. They have three daughters Gabija, Neringa, Nemira and a son Dovydas.
